I’ve just returned from a fantastic overnight stay at Wave Hill. I think in all I had 25 hours there, and only three and a half were wasted sleeping!! Oh, yes, and the 20 minute nanna nap I had before driving home! Talk about making the most of your time!!
After I arrived Angus and Jess took me on a great drive along Carnham Road from Wave Hill to Cangai. It’s a beautiful drive to do if you’re ever up that way. We popped and said g’day to some friends at Coombadjha then drove down their property to see “The Junction” (where the Clarence River meets the Mann River). I was on gate opening duty. I think I did “all right”. I actually didn’t take my camera on this drive as there were three us in the front of a Navara ute so were were pretty cosy.
That night Jess made us a fabulous meal and we washed it down with a nice wine. We stayed up talking, as some of us girls like to do, until the early hours.
The next day I woke up at 5.30am as I was super keen to get some yummy early morning light. There was a thick fog and as it burned off the light was dynamic. I explored a small area of Wave Hill for about 2 hours.
I have about 50 odd favourites but that’s abit too many to blog, so I’ve tried to cut it down. If you’d like to see all my favourites, click to go to my online gallery.
Here’s what I was seeing:

When I was travelling up I saw this little church just to the side of the road, so we quickly pulled off and grabbed some pics:
