big school

Today my littlest love Chelsie started big school.

She was awake at 6.15am, dressed with uniform, socks and shoes. I am so proud. Unfortunately school didn’t start until 9.10am, so we were a little ahead of time, which was a good thing becuase it gave me plenty of time to take some pics of her.

She is such a shy little girl (not!):

It seems pigtails were the order of the day for little girls starting big school!

Chelsie and her best friend Ella:

Chelsies’ cousin Mikhaila also started today. The three of them are in the one class!! Look out Kindergarten!

2008 Portrait Alphabet Book

I have just finished creating the portfolio that I will use to showcase my children’s photography. I wanted to create something that was colourful, upbeat and original in presentation.

It should be be back from the bookbinders in about 3-4 weeks. I can’t wait to see it in print!!

Here’s a sneak preview:

Princess

Whenever I write about princesses it normally refers to my girls who enjoy running around the yard in a flurry of pink tulle with wands and tiara’s, long hair blowing back, giggles floating across the air…….

But not this time…..Princess is an incredibly pampered persian cat (she gets fed steak!) and I had the pleasure of photographing her. She strutted her stuff, posed and looked nonchalant and unimpressed as only a cat can.

Let us all bask in the glory, the wonder and the beauty of…..PRINCESS…..

sticking with the same photographer

2007_12_14mcgrathmoran-3272.jpg
2007_12_14mcgrathmoran-3290.jpg

I’ve photographed the two little ones above, for like, forever…. (mum was pregnant with Will when we first met…). They are 5 yrs and 3 yrs now.

To them, I am just the ‘photo girl’. I have been called that name so many times I have lost count!!!

I’m sure it felt good to the parents to know that when they want to schedule a photo session for their family…that it doesn’t have to be a big ordeal. Why? Because their kids know me…

When you find a photographer who produces images that you love…stick with them… not only will the process be less stressful on you, but your kids will be much more comfortable…and will reveal how they are with you….to the photographer….now imagine all the memories you will have for the years to come!

I haven’t included any story portraits for a while, so here’s two:

I love this shot-Will with the typical 3 year old grin, Elly just ‘loving’ her sister sooo much and Isabelle just tolerating it all…..

And now introducing the parents of these gorgeous children:

The big, happy family:

Thank you for having me in your lives, and for the biggest compliment of all: having my photographs adorn the walls of your home!! Thank you!!

A weekend off…

Friends and family who know me well know I rarely take a weekend off. I am always working on albums, photos, slideshows, this website that I keep promising is on its way….

But last weekend I actually took a couple of days off to chill out, go walking, take photos for myself, go on a picnic and relax.

I’m back into routine as of today, but I’m leaving you with a little image of me kicking back at Brooms Head.

susan and tonys wedding day

At the end of November last year, I shot a wonderful wedding for a fabulous couple. As I have mentioned previously the day was rainy and it threatened to rain all day, but fortunately in the afternoon the weather cleared and we had beautiful sunshine.

Susan didn’t seem nervous at all:
