Veronica and Craig…Part II

As promised, here is the second installment of Veronica and Craigs’ wedding photos.

When I left you yesterday, the children were waiting patiently while the adults had a quick drink before heading off to have more photos taken…..

Veronica leading the way….don’t you love how the Midori matches the dress!

Looking all cool and calm:

Then we decided to amp it up a bit:

Love the concentration on Craig’s face:

I wanted to take something really simple for the ring shot to show off their fantastic designs:

I think it’s important to have just a nice, relaxed portrait:

Congratulations to you both and thanks for including me in your amazing day!!!

Veronica and Craig…Part I

I think this blog entry would have to be one of the most eagerly awaited posts that I have done. I’m going to post it in two parts because there are so many great photos.

When I was first contacted by Veronica and Craig, I got a little prematurely excited when I heard about their wedding day as it sounded so cool. Veronica was telling me that the bridal car would be Little Miss Sunshine-Craig’s VW Combi, the wedding would be at the lighthouse with them wanting photos around our fantastic beaches in Yamba. I soo wanted to shoot that wedding. Then, when I didn’t hear back from Veronica I got prematurely bummed, but then when they decided to book me I got happy in a very timely manner!!….my first wedding of 2008 was going to be awesome!

Now I’ll stop my ramblings because I know it’s my photographs that you all visit for, not my writing!

I knew the day would be amazing and fun when I saw the bride was wearing lime green!:

The bridesmaid and junior bridesmaids were a perfect complement in pink:

And down the aisle we go:

To where Craig is more than happy to see her:

A perfect day:

The kiss:

Married!!!:

Sneaking in another kiss when they thought no one was looking!:

The trick to getting good group shots is to do something funny and unexpected-for example, almost fall off the chair! Just remember the photographers commandment, thou must save thy camera before thy self!!

Just hanging about whilst the adults get some much needed refreshments:

Don’t you just love the colour of the feet!!!:

Stay tuned for more photos tomorrow as I’ll be posting photos of the bridal party and the bride and goom!!

Wetland Care National Art Competition

I don’t enter an awful lot of competitions, mainly because of lack of time, however at the encouragement from a friend of mine I decided to have a crack at the Wetland Care National Art Competition. I entered one of my most favourite images from last year, an image I had titled “Mudpies”, and to my surprise I received a ‘merit’ for my efforts!

Even though I don’t place a great deal of importance on winning awards, I must admit I was just a little bit chuffed! (grin!)

My competition entry:

sample albums

I’m very excited as my sample albums and wedding albums are starting to arrive on a daily basis! It’s just like Christmas at my house with boxes of beautiful albums almost everywhere.

Yesterday my ABC Portrait Book arrived and it looks sensational….even better than I thought it would, so I’m totally rapt!:

img_4691.jpg

I’ve also had one of my full wedding albums arrive for Melissa and Adams wedding and it looks just amazing as well:

Albums packaged up and ready to be delivered:

I have just finalised my booking at the 2008 Ballina Bridal Expo for anyone who would like to drop by (I am at stand M12 in the function room) and view these albums, other work I will have on display and have a chat about their upcoming wedding, children’s photos, or anything else for that matter. It would be nice to see you there!

Until next time, keep smiling!

an afternoon storm

This afternoon we had an amazing storm front go past the house. We had just minutes before it hit and we were drenched with rain….but most importantly there was enough time to grab some shots!

a post wedding session…

Leis, Adam and I decided to get together for a post wedding session after their wedding in October 2007.

It’s a great opportunity to grab some relaxed portraits and casual shots with out the stress of having to keep the dress clean and be back in time for the reception.

We chose Turners Beach Yamba as the venue for our session as we could hit two very different scenes with in the hour photo shoot.

If any of my 2007 brides and grooms would love to have a post wedding session, please email me at info@vickijames.com.au

I started gently by getting them to wade out in the water:

img_4354.jpg

Then I sent Leisa and Adam out in the water for a bit of a splash around:

img_4378.jpg

They did pretty well and looked to be having abit of fun:

img_4406.jpg

Then I thought it could be a bit of fun to chase the seagulls (as you would normally do in your wedding dress!):

img_4495.jpg

I gave them a quick break for breather and a bit of a snuggle:

I love playing around with reflections:

I think this is one of my favourites for the day:

Skipping down the beach Mary Poppins style (thanks guys for this!) :

Then we headed up to the rocks for a change of scene:

I love the drama of this one:

I wish I could take the credit for this stunning sky:
