a free fun new photo toy: shape collages program

I spend waaay too much time reading other photographers blogs and hanging around on the internet. I guess it’s just something that I love doing. There is just so much awesome stuff out there….

Today, I stumbled across a really cool free program that I wanted to share with you all. It is an independent program that makes quick collages from your programs in a custom shape. You can then save the collage as a PSD and edit it in photoshop later.

I created this wedding heart within a few minutes…

The collage maker selected 150 of the 400 odd shots from Kate and Gary’s wedding a few weeks ago and threw together this collage. You can make collages any shape you like.

Studio Samples

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me with school holidays with my girls, a holiday for myself and a lot of work thrown in for good measure!!

I’ve been busy working on some amazing albums which are still in progress, but today I took a short amount of time out to organise some prints for this awesome new hanging frame I bought from Ikea.

It’s a row of 6×6inch clear prespex frames joined by about 2 inches of wire…it’s been hanging in my house for almost a month with not a single photo in it!!

Today I had a bit of a play around with some ideas that had been filtering through my mind…and here’s the photos I have come up with for my new frame. They are going to be printed on some gorgeous metallic paper, I just can’t wait to see the end result!

Ballina Bridal Expo

On Sunday I spent the day at the 2008 Ballina Bridal Expo. It was my first time exhibiting there and I was amazed by the amount of people who visited my stand. Thank you to my current clients who popped in to say hello. It was great to see you!

I would also like to say hello to my new clients. It was great to meet you and I look forward to learning more about you and your wedding day. Thank you for allowing me to share your wedding day with you.

Thank you also to Anthony for helping set up, getting coffee, manning the stand when I went and checked out the expo and just hanging out with me for the day and also to my Mum for minding my girls so I could do this!

Wetland Care National Art Competition

I don’t enter an awful lot of competitions, mainly because of lack of time, however at the encouragement from a friend of mine I decided to have a crack at the Wetland Care National Art Competition. I entered one of my most favourite images from last year, an image I had titled “Mudpies”, and to my surprise I received a ‘merit’ for my efforts!

Even though I don’t place a great deal of importance on winning awards, I must admit I was just a little bit chuffed! (grin!)

I’m very excited as my sample albums and wedding albums are starting to arrive on a daily basis! It’s just like Christmas at my house with boxes of beautiful albums almost everywhere.

Yesterday my ABC Portrait Book arrived and it looks sensational….even better than I thought it would, so I’m totally rapt!:

I’ve also had one of my full wedding albums arrive for Melissa and Adams wedding and it looks just amazing as well:

2008 Portrait Alphabet Book

I have just finished creating the portfolio that I will use to showcase my children’s photography. I wanted to create something that was colourful, upbeat and original in presentation.

It should be be back from the bookbinders in about 3-4 weeks. I can’t wait to see it in print!!
